SULCO ADVISORY

About

Independent research on Indonesia

Sulco Advisory takes one decision at a time, a rule, a policy or a global index call, and measures what it does to Indonesian markets, firms and households. Each study compares Indonesia with its peers and publishes the model behind the answer.

How a study is made

  1. QuestionOne decision and the number a reader needs, stated before any data is pulled.
  2. MechanismHow the decision reaches money and people, drawn as a chain of steps.
  3. Data and modelPrimary sources with links and dates; formulas and parameters written down.
  4. Peers and scenariosIndonesia beside comparable markets; ranges with probabilities rather than a single point.
  5. Review and publishChecked from economist, policy and banking angles, then published with method and sources.

What each study includes

  • A free summary on this site, readable on a phone, and a one-page PDF to share.
  • The full study as slides, opened on the page after you leave an email.
  • A public methodology note with formulas, parameters, sensitivities and a change log.
  • Every source listed by slide, with a link to the original.

Peer set: Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and India; Brazil, Mexico and Turkey where an emerging-market lens fits.

Independence and disclosures

Studies are written by Ade S for Sulco Advisory. No company, agency or index provider covered in a study pays for it or sees it before publication. If a study is ever sponsored or commissioned, its first page and this site will say who paid for it.

Ade S also invests in and runs other Indonesian businesses. Where a study covers a sector or company in which he has a business or financial interest, the study states that interest.

The author may hold positions in securities mentioned and may trade them; views are the author's own. Studies are for information and discussion. They are not investment, legal or tax advice, and not a recommendation to buy or sell any security or currency.

Corrections

When a number changes, the study is updated, the change is logged in its methodology note with the date, and subscribers get a short note if the change matters to the conclusion.
